Alumni Team Proves Might
Besides Strong Opposition from Res-A |
| The Alumni Team proved that they are still the team to beat this season
with a come from behind victory over Res-A. Res-A surprised the Alumni with
fastbreak plays led by Erap and Sherwin. The Alumni was not able
to counter the furious attacks and was down 4 points at the end of the 1st half. But
as what they have done in the past seasons, the Alumni Team showed spirit and used their
most lethal weapon - experience to defeat the challenging Res-A. Fidel led the comeback
with 10 points and 9 reboudns after starting his game only in the second half. Point-guard
Topi contributed with 12 points plus 4 steals. |
| Res-C Too Strong for Res-B |
| It was a walk in the park for Res-C as they downed Res-B by 25 points.
At the end of the 1st half it was already clear that Res-B is no match as the
depleted team only scored 15 against Res-C's 33 points. Res-C capitalized on the absence
of all-time rebounding leader Richard L. and forward Richard D. Res-C's
shooting guard and former Eng'g varsity Mike contributed 18 points while
point-guard Ian and center Edvim each has 12. Center Jek
of Res-B carried much of the load with 18 points while guards Jojie and Manok
poured in 8 and 6 baskets, respectively. |
| Res-A Willing
To Give Two Players for Res-B's Guard Jojie |
| Res-A is not taking any chances in winning the QBA trophy this season .
In a surprise statement, Team Captain Erap expressed his desire to acquire
Res-B's guard Jojie in exchange for two recently drafted players. He added that the
experience of Jojie will be of great help to the team. He will probably play as the backup
of veteran guard Sherwin. There are however doubts on the effectiveness of Jojie
in Res-A. Shooting guard Erick thinks that the team is already deep and the two 2
rookies have great potentials as a player. No trade has been done yet but it is likely
that Res-B will accept the offerl. |
