Thirty-five Years of the EMC² Fraternity

Emeralds are dubbed as the most valuable of gems and said to represent Love and Rebirth, it is also the symbol stone for a thirty-fifth year celebration. Fittingly, its green color is the official Fraternity color, thus we can say that this is definitely the year of EMC²

This year’s celebration is a commemoration of the Brotherhood’s journey. It is also a tribute to our march to the future. Our anniversary theme, “Passion and Commitment…Our Foundation for a Stronger Tomorrow”, is our pledge of undying dedication to our ideals and principles as Quantum Men. Ii is the expression of our belief that with this zeal and dedication, we can reach greater glories in the name of EMC².

Year-long Grand Anniversary Preparation

In December 2003, the EMC² Fraternity, Inc., Board of Directors and the resident officers embarked on a year-long Grand Anniversary preparation program. Initial plans and targets were announced to the general membership during the December 30 traditional Yuletide Party. Then at the start of 2004, action committees were immediately activated to gear up for the envisioned memorable and meaningful celebration year ahead.

“Balik Pilipinas, Balik Kapatiran Welcome ”

Pagbibigay-pugay sa ating mga brods na nakadalaw at bumalik sa Pinas at sa ating kapatiran makalipas ang ilang taong pangingibang bayan. Mainit na pagtanggap ang ating salubong kanila Jess Arranz, Bong Martin, Pete Valdez,Steve Malixi, Gary Pike, Vic de luna, Vermon Ferre at Manuel Macabunga noong mga nakaraang buwan lumipas. Patuloy ang mga parangal nating ito higit sa lahat sa mga dadalo sa ating natatanging pagdiriwang sa ika-13 ng Nobyembre.

“Fairday The 13th”

Our first quarter offering to the Diliman community, EMC² Fraternity hosted the main night of UP Fair 2004. Held last February 13, a Friday, the event’s fare of fun and music captured the largest fair audience ever in UP history.

The Grand Tambayan Party

An annual tradition, the resident brothers hosted a salu-salo at the Melchor Hall 3rd Floor Lobby Tambayan last February___ for friends and family in the UP community.

The Launch of the “Batch Foundation” Program

Last June 19, the Board of Directors called on nominated Interim Batch Chairman for a Workshop-Planning Session that shall lay the structure for the future of our Alumni Association. Activated to duty in this foundation building effort are willing and able brods who shall help in networking and rebuilding links to our more than 400-strong Alumni members world-wide. A series of action planning meetings are currently being undertaken to keep the effort running, with the November 13 event as the test activity for the Batch Foundation Program.

The Emerald Anniversary Launch Party

Held at the Elbow Room Bar at Podium Mall in Mandaluyong last August ___, the directors hosted interim batch chairmen and members from circa1960’s up to the present generation. Details of the grand celebration on November 13 were finally announced to the body.

The Official Launch of “Emerald Anniversary WebComm Link”

88 Days and counting, we kick-off the celebration with the opening of our special anniversary website. Envisioned to liven up the excitement as our grand celebration night nears.

The “Lakarang Iskolar” Ground-breaking

Our pre-ball offering to the UP Diliman Community, the frat’s dream of putting up this community service walk shall finally be started on this 35th Anniversary Year. Target date for the ground-breaking is within the week prior to the grand celebration night.

The Emerald Anniversary Ball

The Main Event of our 35th Anniversary celebration, this homecoming and grand ball shall make November 13, a Saturday, one of the most memorable events in the EMC² history. It will be a night of good music, fine spirits, cheerful remembrance, renewal of our bonds of brotherhood and affirmation of our quest for greatness for our people, our nation and our Fraternity.
