When did you graduate from UP?  How were the times then?

Ako ay nag-graduate sa UP Class 72 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Ito ay year ng Martial Law. Nag umpisa ako ng 1967, kasama ko pa nga si Hilary de Leon, pero dahil sa napakahusay niya ay he only took the course ng four years, instead of the normal five. Ka-klase ko na, naging instructor ko pa. Our time sa UP ay period ng unrest dahil na nga sa mga pangyayari na related kay Pres. Marcos. Maraming "activism" during our time, demonstration, at boycott ng mga classes. Miriam Defensor was in the UP Student Council at that time. It was an experience na hindi ko makakalimutan.

Brod, what are your free-times like?

What free time? Just kidding, may roon din naman kung papaano. Mahilig ako ngayon at keeping tabs with business news and the stock market. To get in shape (sometimes), I either play tennis or go biking. Ang isa sa mga wishes ko that I have more time to travel, not for business but for leisure with my family.

How is work like in Silicon Valley?  How is the family?

Nandito pa rin ako sa Silicon Valley. I am working sa small company na we founded in 1987 to design and manufacture test equipment. We get contracts sa mga companies dito to build test equipment for them.  My wife is Mary Ann. She works as a registered nurse at the county hospital. We have a total of four girls. One is a college graduate, another is a high school graduate and the other two girls ay nasa elementary pa lang. Their names are Lynne, Erin, Ariane, and Marielle, respectively.

What was your most memorable experience with the fraternity?

I really enjoyed my experience sa fraternity - maganda iyong samahan. Ang most memorable experience ay iyong initiation. I just didn't know what to expect. It was kind'a scary. I am indebted to brods Jun Marte, Philip Ting, Bing Castillo, Obet Tiongson, Angel Manzo at marami pang iba for all the help they have extended to me. I am so proud to be a part of this organization.

I am much amazed at how the fraternity evolved over the years, how it grew to the number of brods that we have, how it matured and become a leader in the school and in the community. Keep up the good work and let us make sure that the EMC Fraternity torch remains lit forever. Life is full of surprises. You just have to deal with situations as they come. Life is full of choices. Just make the majority of it right and you should be OK. Give back some of your blessings to the people. You'll be amazed at how much more blessings you get in return.
